Noah and the Great Flood |
| So God said
to Noah... "So make yourself an ark of cypress wood, ... and you will
enter the ark - you and your sons and your wife and your son's wives with
you ... two of all living creatures, male and female to keep them alive
with you.
And rain fell on the earth for forty days and forty nights. Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out. And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds..... Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Genesis 6, 7, 8, 9 The rainbow set as God's promise never to destroy all life again by flood is depicted above the flowing waters. |
